PITTSBURGH — Custom Nuclear Fabrication has opened a facility in Canonsburg that may eventually bring more than 100 energy-related jobs to Washington County. The startup will build steel canisters for spent nuclear fuel.
The company intends to eventually employ up to 125 in order to fulfill its contract with Areva, a French nuclear company. Custom Nuclear Fabrication plans to build 50 canisters per year and is starting production next month.
